Gyoza with chicken, ginger, chili, coriander and spring onions

What you need:

  • 400g minced chicken

  • 1 red chili

  • 1 handful fresh coriander

  • 1-2 spring onions

  • 2 cm ginger

  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce

  • salt and pepper

  • gyoza dough ( get them in speciality stores )

  • sesame oil

Dip:

  • soy

  • chopped chili

  • chopped spring onions

 

Method:

  • Chop the ginger and chilli very finely.

  • Chop the spring onion.

  • Mix the minced chicken meat with the chopped fresh coriander and oyster sauce.

  • Season with salt and pepper.

  • Add approx. 1 tablespoon meat mixture on each a gyaza dough piece.

  • With a finger, brush edges with cold water and fold

  • Press the dough batter and fold the rim like wrinkles.

  • Fry the Gyoza over low heat in sesame oil.

  • Once they have a little color on bottom, add 1/2 dl water.

  • Cover and allow to steam on till all the water has evaporated

  • Serve immediately with soy sauce dip.
