Venus mussels with Chorizo sausage, garlic and chili

Venus mussels with Chorizo sausage, garlic and chili

A perfect finger food dish finished in 15 minutes.

What you need:

  • 1 kg of Venus mussels (clams)

  • 160g of spicy Chorizo sausage

  • 2 cloves garlic

  • chili flakes

  • 1 shallot

  • olive oil

  • pepper

  • bread

 

Method:

  • Clean the mussels and discard any crushed ones

  • Finely chop the shallot, garlic

  • Slice the Chorizo sausage and cut the slices in halves

  • Fry the shallot, garlic, some chilis flakes and the chorizo sausages in olive oil on medium high temperature (use a frying pan as big in diameter as possible)

  • After 5 min. add the mussels. Make sure they are mostly in a single layer.

  • Put a lid on

  • Let the mussels cook for 3-4 minutes. (stir carefully one or two times to let the mussels open up)

  • Serve immediately directly from the frying pan with good bread and good white wine

  • No cutlery is allowed for eating this dish :)
